Basin City Elementary's Library Literacy and Technology Learning Expectations K-6

We believe that: (1) Reading / Literacy is a window to the world, (2) inquiry provides a framework for learning, (3) that technology is an important instructional tool in enabling students to reach the Benchmarks / Standards required by Washington State’s Academic Learning Requirements, and Washington State’s Library Information and Technology Standards. The following information outlines six categories of learning expectations that are essential skills to prepare students for life-long learning, informed decision-making and a love of reading. In Kindergarten, students will learn basic computer skills. They will learn how to identify and use the following parts of the computer, keyboard, monitor, mouse,vomputer, headphone jack and volume contol.They will be able to open a shortcut, open & close windows and point and click with a mouse.
